Panel no. 1

Rama, Laksmana, Sugriwa, Priest Wismamitra, Wibisana and the troops of apes arrive at Alengka. They discuss to arrange the strategy and the steps to be taken.

Panel no. 2

The troops of apes prepare themselves and wait for orders from their commander

Panel no. 3

Anggadha, the envoy of Rama, calls on Rawana in his palace to ask for Sita back. His request is refused, furthermore, Anggadha’s auricles are cut off, after that Rawana covers them with a letter challenge to Rama.

Panel no. 4

Covered with blood Anggadha reports to Rama exactly what has happened to him. Rama feels deeply insulted, then he orders to his troops to make themselves ready to attack Alengka.

Panel no. 5

The troops of apes are heading for the battlefield.

Panel no. 6

A fierce battle occurs. Indrajid, the crown prince of Alengka, shoot his Nagapasa arrow at Rama and Laksmana from behind the clouds, which makes both knights unable to move. An eagle releases them by devouring that dragon-headed chain arrow. At last Indrajid is killed by Rama.

Panel no. 7

The fight between Rama, Laksmana against Rawana, who rides a winged chariot, and his troops. In this fight Rawana is driven back, and escapes.

Panel no. 8

Giant Kumbakarna, Rawana’s younger brother, is doing sleeping asceticism. He has to be awakened to help him to fight Rama, Laksmana and their troops.

Panel no. 9

The fight between Kumbakarna and Rama who is helped by Laksmana, Sugriwa and the troops of apes is watched by Wismamitra and Wibisana. Kumbakarna is killed by Rama’s and Laksmana’s arrows.

Panel no. 10

Kumbakarna dies as a patriot, and his body is sown with flowers by his servants.

Panel no. 11

Sita and Trijata sit in the garden of the Alengka palace, they hear the news of the fall of Alengka and Rama’s arrival.

Panel no. 12

Rawana, who is regarded as the symbol of evil, is at last killed. His corpse is put on the golden lath frame and crowded by his servants.

Panel no. 13

After the fall of Alengka Wismamitra and his followers are very happy because they can live in peace, and no longer they will be harassed by Rawana and his giants.

Panel no. 14

The unity of Sita and Rama. Wibisana is appointed king of Alengka.

Panel no. 15

Rama and Sita return to Ayodhya, accompanied by Laksmana. They are welcomed by Bharata, who immediately gives the throne back to Rama. Rama rules Ayodhya, and under his wise leadership the country becomes very prosperous.

Panel no. 16

Sita is expecting a child. Knowing that, Rama becomes suspicious and doubts the purity of his wife since she has stayed for a long time at Alengka’s court. Without informing Sita that she will be sent into exile in the forest, Laksmana is ordered to take her to the place of exile.

Panel no. 17

Sita and Laksmana go to the forest by riding a carriage.

Panel no. 18

On arriving at the forest, Laksmana tells her the real purpose of their journey. Sita is filled with sadness, but there is nothing else she can do but submitting to her fate.

Panel no. 19

After Laksmana has returned to Ayodhya, Sita lives all by herself in the forest. She meets wild animals.

Panel no. 20

Sita wanders from one place to another, and finally she arrives at Mpu Walmiki’s hermitage and lives there.

Panel no. 21

Sita gives birth to twin boys whom she named Kusa and Lawa.

Panel no. 22

The news of their birth becomes widespread, and fairies come to walmiki’s hermitage to wish them good health and that they may grow up into great warriors (knights)

Panel no. 23

Sita and her two sons go into the forest to look for vegetables and fruits to be brought back to their hermitage.

Panel no. 24

When they are growing up into adulthood, Kusa and Lawa are instructed in the art of archery together with Mpu Walmiki’s disciples.

Panel no. 25

Sita dies to be united with the goddess Perthiwi in heaven. Kusa and Lawa are advised by Mpu Walmiki to look for his father in the kingdom of Ayodhya

Panel no. 26

Mpu Walmiki accompanies Kusa and Lawa to go to Ayodhya and they are disguised as troubadours at the time when Rama is celebrating an Aswamedha sacrifice.

Panel no. 27

Kusa and Lawa recite the Ramayana story composed by Mpu Walmiki. Rama is very surprised to hear his life story from them, then he asks them for its source.

Panel no. 28

Mpu Walmiki then relates the wandering of Sita and tells Rama that Kusa and Lawa are his own sons.

Panel no.29

Rama is full of regret about what he has done to Sita and her sons. To redeem his deed, he decides to pass the throne of Ayodhya on to Kusa and Lawa.

Panel no. 30

The crowning of Kusa as king and the installation of Lawa as prime minister of Ayodhya are attended by brahmans and hermits.
